On day five of boot camp the new trainer walks out, one recruit forgets how to breathe, and she notices at once.
Episode 1: fifty pushups and a time and place
The recruit narrates, and his first reaction to the trainer is a gasp inside his own head. She introduces herself as Trainer Harlow and states the standard: eyes on her when she speaks, an answer when she asks. His stammered "Yes, ma'am" gets him noticed. Another look like that, she warns, and she will break what is left of him, and he is shaking before she has touched him. Fifty pushups follow, and he stalls at 48 and 49 while she calls it pathetic. Another recruit moves to help, and Harlow shuts that down on the spot. She ends by naming a place and time, the training grounds at 1800, with a warning about lateness. The episode closes with her pledge of a world of grind and sweat, until he begs for it.
Episode 2: stretching, then the grind
On a free Candy Shorts account with English subtitles, the second episode opens at the training grounds with her rule that his eyes stay to himself. First they stretch, then they grind. She demonstrates the exercises herself and asks whether he enjoyed the show, while his inner voice weighs making a move against the risk of a bigger punishment. He decides it would be worth it.
She catches him anyway, asking whether he is having trouble focusing, and says he has been staring the whole time. He denies it badly. Her reply is an order to the changing rooms, since she knows exactly what to do with him, and she shuts down his excuses. She calls it stamina training, and the terms are that he moves on her signal.
The witness and the captain
The premise adds a second recruit with her own feelings for him, who follows the pair and holds a threat to tell the captain. Harlow stops someone from helping him in episode 1, and the subtitles do not tell me whether that is the witness. Her arrival is the hinge of the story, and it lies past the free pair.
Who is on the training ground
Two characters carry the free pair: Trainer Harlow, who gives her name in her own introduction, and the recruit, who is addressed only as Private. Another recruit is told not to help him, and the captain exists only in the premise. The cast is invented adults, with no real performer filmed.
