When an episode of Mona's Worst Enemy ends, the player does not stop at the credits. It offers a chat with the lead character, a profile named Mona Newman, as if the story could keep talking. That button leads out of the Shorts and into the rest of Candy.ai, and this review follows it.
What is Candy AI, and where do the Shorts fit?
Candy.ai is a companion service built on AI. Its characters are generated, and you can talk to them, design your own and, on Premium, make 18+ images and videos. Candy Shorts is the part you watch instead of chatting with: scripted stories in vertical episodes that run a minute or two, written in advance with a beginning, a middle and an end. The series play without a chat and leave your chat history untouched.
I came in through the Shorts, so this review reads the platform from that side. On October 16, 2026, I opened a free account and went through the free episodes of 143 of the 159 series. Our guide to what Candy Shorts is covers the format in depth. This page covers what sits around it, while the legal questions go to the safety guide and the money questions to what it costs.
What do you get from the companion chat?
The chat is the core of Candy AI, and its limit is easy to state. Free accounts get 5 messages, and Premium unlocks unlimited text messages. Five messages is a sample, not a conversation: enough to meet a character, send a first line and read the answer, and then the wall comes up.
The Shorts open that door at the finish. I counted on September 24, 2026: the end-of-episode screen offered a chat with the lead character in 92 of the 111 open series, and the other 19 pointed to character creation. The profile behind the button carries its own name: Mona Newman for Mona's Worst Enemy, Harriet Seagrave for Under the Boss and Colette Ramsey for Dad's New Girlfriend.
The Terms of Service describe the conversations as fictional, which fits the product: you take part in a story with a generated character. What you type is still real information about you, so keep personal details out of it.
What do Premium's character, image and video tools add?
Premium turns the chat into a toolbox. The plan page lists the perks in plain words: create your own AI girlfriend or girlfriends, generate 18+ images, generate 18+ videos, a Full Live Action Experience, unlimited text messages and a monthly allowance of 100 tokens. The 18+ labels make the point plain. This is an adult platform, and Premium is where its tools open up.
These tools are a different product from the Shorts. A Short is written in advance and you watch it, while generating videos is a separate Premium perk. The generator side has its own page, videos and app.
Tokens are what the Shorts spend. Premium brings 100 a month, an unlocked episode takes 12 in most series, and the creator and Spicy series charge more. The app is a browser shortcut, not a download: the plans page walks you through Add to Home Screen on iPhone and Android. Dollar prices sit on the pricing page.
Who are the creator digital twins?
Candy Creators is the shelf where real performers license a digital twin, an AI version that carries their name and likeness. Each twin is a joint project: the creator takes part and gives full consent (Help Center, August 26, 2026). Six creators have Shorts, in alphabetical order Asa Akira, Bonnie Blue, Lexi Luna, Mia Malkova, Riley Reid and Sophie Dee, and each licensed a twin without performing in the series.
On October 16, 2026, the catalog counted seven series with Riley Reid's twin and four with Mia Malkova's. Candy.ai lists more creators for chat than the six with Shorts, so the twin idea reaches beyond the series. Open creator series price their paid episodes at 30 tokens, against 12 in most others, so a creator title takes a bigger bite of the monthly allowance.
The creators hub lists each twin and the series built around it, and the profiles of Riley Reid and Mia Malkova go deeper.
Is Candy AI legit, and is there an alternative?
Candy AI is legit in the ordinary sense: a named operator, published terms and policies, an age gate and written refund rules. I will not repeat the evidence here, because the safety guide lays it out, along with how the charge appears on a statement and which look-alike sites to skip.
Alternatives are harder to answer honestly. Other companion apps exist, but I judge a platform by opening it, and Candy.ai is the one I have read and watched closely, so I do not rank rivals I have not used. The nearest alternative to the whole platform sits on the same site: skip the chat and watch only the Shorts, which play without it.
The bottom line: is Candy AI worth it for a Shorts fan?
Candy AI is two products under one login. The chat is the companion side: a free sample of 5 messages, then Premium for the rest. The Shorts are the stories: a free pair of episodes in most series, then tokens. Premium bundles both and adds character creation and 18+ images and videos on top.
My verdict: the free account is worth opening, because it settles at no cost whether the Shorts hook you. Premium is worth it if the chat or the creation tools are the point, or if you will pay for episodes anyway and want 100 tokens a month. Skip the platform if you are under 18, if adult content is not for you, or if you expect unlimited chat on a free account.
