A friend sends you the name of a series and swears the first episodes are free. You have heard that pitch before, so you ask the fair questions: free how, and free until when?
What is free on Candy AI Shorts?
Free starts with an account. Candy.ai asks you to confirm that you are over 18 at the door, and a free account is enough to open Candy Shorts. On October 16, 2026, the Shorts grid listed 159 series, and 145 of them hand out episodes 1 and 2 without a token. Simona Rossi: Wrong But Right gives three free episodes, one more than the rest.
The free part is short by design. Candy.ai's free episodes run about a minute or two, and the median across the 286 I watched sat near 63 seconds. A free pair therefore adds up to roughly two minutes of story, enough to learn who the characters are, what they want and where the trouble starts. In the CandyShorts player I tested, subtitles came in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
That leaves 14 series, and they follow other rules. All 14 are Spicy, and a later section explains why a free account stops at their door.
How do you watch Candy Shorts for free, step by step?
The route takes a few minutes and costs no tokens. This is the route I took, using a free account, on October 16, 2026.
- Confirm that you are 18 or older at the age gate when you reach Candy.ai.
- Create a free account.
- Open Candy Shorts and choose a series outside the Spicy group.
- Play episodes 1 and 2, or episodes 1 to 3 on Simona Rossi: Wrong But Right.
- Stop when episode 3 shows its lock and its token price, unless you decide to pay.
You do not need to open a chat to watch. The Shorts play on their own and leave your chat history alone, so the stories and the conversations stay separate. The filters above the grid narrow the list by trope, which helps when you remember the setup from a teaser but not the series name.
What do the free episodes show on screen?
Across the 145 non-Spicy series, the free episodes keep nudity and sex scenes off the screen. The talk is another matter. The dialogue can run suggestive and blunt, so mind the volume on a train. That held in each of the 143 series whose pair I watched with subtitles on. What you get is setup, and the setup does the work: someone arrives, a rule bends, and episode 2 stops on a line that makes you want episode 3.
My Bestie Betrayed Me shows how a free pair plays. Episode 1 is the discovery: Emma finds her boyfriend with her best friend. Episode 2 is the fallout, and it ends on her line to the friend: "Keep him. He's exactly what you deserve." A free pair that ends on a verdict like that makes episode 3 the obvious next question, and it costs zero tokens to reach.
How adult a series gets afterward is a different question. The five-level scale lives in the porn guide, and the nudity guide says what shows in each tier. The short version: the adult scenes sit in the paid stretch, which starts at episode 3 in most series.
Why are the Spicy series locked even for episode 1?
Fourteen of the 159 series are Spicy, and a free account cannot open them, not even episode 1. Premium lifts the lock, and with it episodes 1 and 2 cost zero tokens. The logic is plain: adult scenes begin right away in these series, so there is no gentle free pair to hand out.

Is the Candy AI chat free too?
Candy Shorts is one half of Candy.ai. The other half is the chat, where you talk with generated characters, and it has its own free limit: a free account is capped at 5 messages. Premium lists unlimited text messages among its benefits, so a longer conversation needs a plan.
The two halves meet at the end of an episode. When I finished an episode of Mona's Worst Enemy, the player offered a chat with the profile named Mona Newman. Watching does not require it. What do you pay for after the free pair?
Episode 3 and later cost tokens, 12 in most Candy Shorts series, and tokens come with Premium. The lock on each paid episode shows its price, so you see the cost before you commit. The bottom line: is free enough?
Free is enough to decide. Two episodes of about a minute each give you the setup, the tone and the question that episode 3 will answer, all at zero tokens. Stay on the free account if the pair felt complete or the story did not grab you. Pay when you need episode 3, and start with a short series so the bill stays small. My own rule is a two-question test. After episode 1, can I say who wants what? After episode 2, do I need the answer? Two yeses and I check the token price; anything less and I stay on the free account.
